Polling day is Today!!

I have just voted!! Can't wait for the results.

I was discussing with my mom on the current Singapore situation and her comment that maybe PM Lee is waiting for his son to come back and be the next PM leads me thinking. I am reminded of how he sent that letter years ago that turned the Ministry of Defence upside down..

Taken from the letter: "We can take criticism about having second hand equipment, outdated training methods, and even questionable relevance to modern day operations. But one thing that cannot be tolerated is a reputation for having bad leaders. Such a reputation would compromise Singapore's defence credibility far more than using refurbished tanks or old training manuals."

If he is really going to be the next leader in future, I will be grateful if he can stands by what he used to think and not be sidetracked upon gaining power.

I happened to watch the Japanese drama "Ogon no Buta" recently and the following lines are rather memorable to me. I have kind of translated them from the chinese subtitles as I do not really understand Japanese, so hopefully they are correct.

"People changed when they are in power"

"All this while, we have ignored the problem because, we will not be able to protect our livelihood otherwise. But let us try and change now. Starting from ourselves."

So let's start changing today please. :)
