A Bloody NYE

I had been doing OT these few nites (the worst was leaving the company at 9.30pm) cos i wanted to finish my work by this week and dont want to do any OT on new year eve too...It is a bloody bad thing that I had to work on NYE liao while my friends are still sleeping like pigs at home so i really dont want to stay back...

But my wish was destroyed when i received a whole stack of leave forms at around 11am.. Bloody hell!! So i stayed back and completed it.. You may ask why i dont just leave it for next week.. Cos i need to do the bloody leave report for 2005 next week and my company will be changing our employees' badge nos next week too.. so i really must do it by this year... BLOODY HELL!!!

Okay, OT never mind, i'm used to it liao as long as not everyday (my officer is like everyday stayed back one so i am more fortunate liao).. But when i left the company at 3 plus, the bloody weather went and cried on me... TMD... It is not those gentle tears, okay... It was crying up a big storm loh, with the heavy tears and strong winds...

I got umbrella loh but you see my umbrella... so weak how to endure??

This is the umbrella that cannot go through hardships with u..

Anyway, i was struck at one of the HDB, cursing at the stupid weather for being so moody on me.. I mean i just want to go home and rest, is that too much to ask? I think the passers-by thought i was mad liao...

After at least 15 min, the weather seemed to be tired from crying as the tears were lesser.. I decided to make a mad dash across the road.. When i managed to cross the road, the path on the other side was so flooded that i had to walk on the grass.. The water was coming down from the hill...

See how rapidly the water was flowing down in the drain...

Finally i reached the sheltered stairway but my torture had not stopped.. The stairway was flooded cos the water in the drain above had overflowed and thus was flooding down the stairs.. Bloody hell.. By the time, i got up the stairs, my shoes and socks were soaked... And that's how i looked like when i got home, wet jeans and wet shoes and socks.. I conclude the bloody weather really dont like me...

Random Thoughts:
Why do some ppl like to reply New Year greeting with "You too".. So insincere.. You too you too, my head ah.. think i toot toot train ah.. Bloody hell!!

Kenny Roger

I went to meet my ah gal 3 and ah gal 5 for dinner on Friday.. I arrived on time even though i left the office late.. We decided to eat Kenny Roger.. First time for me cos i never stepped into it before (I am a shuagu)...

I had a 1/4 chicken that came with a muffin and 2 side dishes, mashed potatoes and macaroni with cheese... It was nice but i was very lousy with my fork and knife when i am eating the chicken.. Bo pian, i like to eat using hands mah..

Anyway, i discovered a new shop in Suntec called Chocolate Art.. there are a lot of nice chocolates.. even got a mahjong set one.. so nice.. but i didnt buy anything cos i am really controlling myself and not wanting to spend a lot... Money is so hard to keep...

Earth From Above

I was in Orchard for Christmas shopping a week or two, when i recalled reading Sassyjan blogging about the Earth from Above Exhibition...

Being a sucker for nice photographs, i decided to go and view the exhibition first before shopping.. And the walk started from outside Borders on the way to Forum the shopping mall.. It took more than one hour to reach the end.. Just when i am about to finish viewing, a sudden rain came and i slowly went to Forum the shopping mall to seek shelter.. It took 30 mins before the rain stopped and i resumed my viewing like nothing had happened...

Some of my favourite pics are the one showing the New York World Trade Centre in their full glory once again..(Maybe we only learn to cherish when we lost it?) and the one showing a lot of happy African ppl just smiling right up at the camera.. (I feel happy just looking at it.. they may have a lot more problems than the rest of us ppl financially but mentally, they are stronger and better...)

Besides the beautiful photographs, one of the things that totally impressed me is that the organisers put into consideration that the blind ppl may not get to enjoy such a great exhibition so on the other side of the pathway, tactile images are made using cellulose acetate.. This allows the blind ppl to feel how the photographs are like and descriptions are written in braille as well.. Brillant :p

If you are interested, do go down to Orchard road to view the photographs.. The exhibition is going to end soon, by early or mid Jan.. Or you can also buy the book to keep with you all the wonderful photographs.. I dont mind getting one as a present.. hurhurhur..

I saw this cute pic on A crunchy green apple and decided to steal it.. heehee

Cute hor?

Yay Yay Yay!!!

Ran to work as fast as i could this morning as i realised i had receptionist duty this morning (my recep colleague went on leave.. so good : ( i also want.. ). Made it in time though i was sweating like a pig... Dont know why but as i was doing my duty, my left foot started to itch, followed by the right one.. Then BOTH ITCH LIKE HELL... Dont tell me the air underneath the recep counter is dirty?? It was hard to maintain a good posture above while busy scratching your feet below... *Scratch and scratch*

Went for some shopping after work in Central Bukit Batok, heartland mall... And bought these two items...

1.Dove leave-on moisture lotion for my dry dry hair ends... I was awfully attracted to it at first sight due to its beautiful BLUE color, my favourite.. heehee

2. Rainie Yang Cheng Lin 杨丞琳 latest cd + vcd.. I bought this cos i just realised i got one last cd rama card that is going to expire this month.. So i only need to top up $0.95 for this $20.95 baby.. heehee.. Dont know want to go to her autograph session on this thurs or not.. :p

3. I also saw these cute pens so i just bought them on impulse.. 3 bucks each loh, equalize to 2 meals liao.. But the YaY hand pen is soooo me :p

Michelle's Birthday

I went to her bbq at East Coast Park yesterday. Our class only got Jiahui, Karen, Dave, Chengying and I went... Audrey 放我们飞机 cos she was sick... We met at mac at around 5.30pm, where Dave was the only one on time and Karen and Chengying were the latest to arrive at 6.30pm..

See how sad the happy Dave turned into after waiting for us ladies..

We went to the bbq pits at 7pm, everyway got a lot of ppl there to celebrate Christmas in the more simple way.. The five of us decided to take a walk in the park as most of Michelle's guests were not around..

Sunset at ECP.. too bad i only have a camera phone with me.. :p

By the time, we went back, it was dark and there were many ppl.. We ate some of the food.. I am sibeh controlling myself cos i dont want to eat more than i need.. (U know u will tend to eat and eat when u see other ppl doing that).. Chengying also not eating much cos she is nursing a sore throat..

Went home at 11pm and managed to catch the last train.. By the time i reached home (12.30am), i just want to sleep and sleep.. It is so tiring to live in the West side when almost all of your friends are in the North or East.. No one to share cabs with me or chatted on the trains... No late nite suppers in the East.. :(

Dear granddaughter Karen gave me a gift.. It's a book telling me where are all the good places selling desserts in Singapore.. Who want to explore with me?

The Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Flavor Test

You scored 62% SWEET, 48% CHUNKY, and 66% UNIQUE!

cherry sweet cream base with cherries and fudge chunks

Awesome...you are one of my personal favs: Cherry Garcia. You fall in the middle on all measurements- sweet, wild, and unique, but not overwhelmingly so on any of those. You make a good friend, able to share your unique perspectives on things, and able to have fun without winding up in jail or something. Good job.

My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 11% on SWEET

You scored higher than 2% on CHUNKY

You scored higher than 54% on UNIQUE

Spring cleaning

My mom and I was doing some spring cleaning of our room today and finally managed to clear some space by putting the tons of posters i have into the storeroom.. Have a lot of sneezing fits due to the dust.. Either that or someone really hate me a lot to be cursing me every hour or so...

I found lots of forgotten stuff and managed to dig my weigh scale out... ALAMAK!! I am now 60kg loh.. OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD!!! I must start jogging.. i dont want to be a fat ass soon.. But how to wake up at 5 am plus when i tended to sleep at 12 am plus

Now, the first thing on my wishlist would be OTO Trimax, something to help me get rid of my flabby tummy... Sob sob.. I am FATTTTT!!! WAaaaa.... Btw, U think OSIM's one better?

p.S. I love Vandice's way of ending with a thought so i'm going to copy it to my blog with some random thoughts of mine ( I no money one, so pls dont ask me for copyright fees...) Since it is random, so wont appear everyday hor.. Here's my first random thought...

What Calvin & Hobbes character are you?

OH MY GOD!!! Do i already have parental instincts?

You scored as Mom and Dad. You are Calvin's mom and dad. Though sometimes Calvin drives you wild, you manage to keep him under control, and sometimes you even get rewared from it. Sometiems...

Pre-Christmas Celebration

Met some of my sec school friends for dinner on friday... I was hestitant to go at first cos i dont want to be the only female with no male companion on that day but my friends ensure that it would be an all-female thingy ( i know i very niao but they can be with their sweethearts on Christmas eve mah, which is a more impt day), thus i decided to joined in..

I was late cos i needed to pass something to Karen.. Jane was delayed by me too since she waited for me.. We two walked from the orchard mrt to orchard parade hotel, where the Mexican restaurant, Chico’s and Charlie’s Mexican Restaurant and Bar is at..

Kyra, Janice and Joyce are already there, waiting for us.. The food is quite okay but i guessed it is an acquired taste.. hee.. No pic cos i forget to take liao... We exchanged presents when Joycelyn got there.. I got a gingerbread soft toy and sweets from Kyra..

Ya, i got present...

Joycelyn got a necklace from me (but dont think suit her.. haha..), Joyce got a tigger soft toy and bracelet from Joycelyn while Kyra got a precious thought cutley set from Joyce.. Janice got a handbag from Jane while Jane got an assorted gift from Janice.. Assorted meaning got more than one item loh..

After that, we sit around to chat but Joyce went off early for work.. Then it was off to partyworld ktv to sing our hearts out.. On the way there, i saw a lot of legal and illegal hawkers selling things.. Guess Christmas made a good time for them to make some money.. The crowd was horrifying even though it was only 23rd.. i guess it will be like that for the weekend as well..

Kyra sang till 12 plus, cos her prince charming came to pick his cinderella .. Btw, she really sing very well.. should go and join Superstar.. The rest of us stayed till 3am before taking a cab home..

Some thoughts that i had after the outing:

I was kenna "shoot" by my friends during the chat after dinner.. Questions like, "How come you never wear makeup", " How come you never draw your eyebrows", How come you didnt wear contact lense" and "When are you going to get a boyfriend"... Wau lau, even my mom never asked so much...I brushed away all questions with "I'm lazy", which is true...

Sometimes, i wondered whether i am forcing myself to be someone different when i'm with them.. If you supposed to change and be someone else with your friends, maybe the friend your friends want is not really you but someone else.. Maybe it is time for me to find more geeky friends who still know how to enjoy life..

Oh yeah, i saw the bar, The Balcony at Heerens.. Looked fun hor, who want to go with me.. i still very bar virgin.. hee.. that sounded soooo wrong.. Whatever..

Have been busy these few days, shopping for gifts.. Although i didnt buy a lot but it set me off at least $170.. of cos it also included a necklace i bought for myself.. heehee

Nice mah?

Haha.. the pimple on my right cheek is soooo obvious.. jialat...

Anyway, my dept had a pre-christmas celebration on wednesday... Exchanged gifts with each other and i got a cute mug.. just right for me..

After that, my HR manager treated 4 of us to dinner at Lemongrass Thai restaurant in Heeren (some colleagues cannot make it so they lose out loh.. heehee).. The food is quite nice and i saw a CUTIE waiter!!! But too bad he is too young for me.. hahaha..

I bought something at Moshi Moshi.. so exp that i want to cry.. and the thing is it is not for me and the person i am giving it to dont seem to like the brand.. U may ask why i still buy it for her leh.. I also dont know leh.. heehee...

I was so tired last night that i didnt eat dinner, only have 2 slices of papaya.. Now i am really papaya liao cos my stomach is growling.. Waiting for lunch.. 1hr and 45 mins more!!!

I saw this at Miche's blog and found it very interesting so i'm sharing with all of you here....

George Carlin’s Views on Aging

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we’re kids? If you’re less than 10 years old, you’re so excited about aging that you think in fractions.

“How old are you?” “I’m four and a half!” You’re never thirty-six and a half. You’re four and a half, going on five! That’s the key.

You get into your teens, now they can’t hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.

“How old are you?” “I’m gonna be 16!” You could be 13, but hey, you’re gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life . . . you become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony . . . YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There’s no fun now, you’re Just a sour-dumpling. What’s wrong? What’s changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you’re PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it’s all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn’t think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.

You’ve built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it’s a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80s and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn’t end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; “I Was JUST 92.”

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. “I’m 100 and a half!” May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay “them ”

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about t he computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. “An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.” And the devil’s name is Alzheimer’s.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it’s family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don’t take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Dinner in Changi Village

Finally met my Jay Daddy on Monday... He was so sweet to call and pick me up from my workplace (sweet to all the gals, anyway.. :p) but he is very bad with instructions loh.. My first impression of Jay Daddy is that he got the rogue's looks that allowed him to break so many tender hearts..

Haha.. I also met Ang Ku Kueh.. You will never guess that she looked so pretty from just hearing her voice.. Ahems.. let me rephrase, i mean she looked way prettier than how she sounded..

Jay Daddy went to pick up Vanna after that.. Haha.. Both of us were laughing at how coincidence it is.. After all, she was in my dreams the day before Monday.. Hee.. But the poor gal is sick like me.. but who asked her to drink so much alcohol.. :p

We were chatting about Christmas gifts when Ang Ku Kueh shared with us one idea , which is to make small stars and put it into a small bottle.. Quite a traditional and money-saving idea.. But Jay Daddy extend the idea even farther (in a cheapskate way loh) by suggesting that we filled the bottle with our breath and give it to the other person (preferably your other half). In this way, we can said that the person took our breath away.. ""-_- Like that also can ah...

Supposed to eat at Charlie's Corner but the owner went fishing on Mon (and sometimes Sat too.. it is stated on the board loh :p), so we went to the Terminal at the jerry terminal to eat instead.. Besides we four, the rest who came later to join us are Daniel Deek (i dont know his blogger nick leh.. so if Daniel Deek is reading as he said he is, pls let me know your blog, ok?) , Mee Pok Kor Kor, Jay Daddy's friend (I forgot his name.. sorry :p), Les Daddy and Mommy..

We have finger foods like chicken wings and squid rings (i dont know how to spell the cheem cheem name, so just used what i understand one loh..) while we were waiting.. After that, i was too full to eat a lot so i shared the chicken cutlet with Vanna.. Quite nice.. and the windy weather made the dinner very enjoyable.. Must thanks Mee Pok Kor Kor for the dinner treat..

On the way home, i didnt mutter much words cos i was pretty tired.. I noticed that i am a very bad company when i am tired cos i prefer to listen more than talk.. Unless you only want me to listen lah, then can considered good company liao... i reached home around midnight..

P.S. I just got to know that Jay Daddy managed to solve the puzzle liao just within one day.. i had wanted to let him waste more time..Takes the fun out of it.. Hmphz... >_<

There was a Malay wedding at the void deck of my HDB block on Sunday.. On Sat morning, on my way to work, Ms Kaypoh (me) decided to take some pics of the decorations seeing that there was no one around...

Overall decorations

Beautiful walkway

Seats for the guests..

Nice cushion seat for the wedding couple

Soooooo nice.. White evades gracefulness.. the whole decoration was soooo full of romance.. I didnt know a Malay wedding can be so beautiful, almost like a church wedding..

There was a blast of malay songs on Sunday as the performance started.. Songs with words that i dont understand but with rhythm that i can move my body to...I decided to leave the flat to do my Christmas shopping in Orchard road...

It was surprising to see that there was another event at the void deck of another HDB block as i walked to the MRT station.. This time round, it was a Chinese funeral... It just goes to say that you never know what will happen in the next moment of life.. So learn to cherish what you have and love it.. Learn to love someone with all your heart...

Having say that, i must admit i do not picture myself falling in love and getting married.. Not because i cant but more because i forced myself not to.. It is because i know myself too well.. i know that once i fall, it will be hard and i will be the type of gal who will do ANYTHING for my man.. And i dont want that to happen..

And friends' and my mom's experiences had really put me off as i dont want to be the position where my heart and soul will be hurt.. Call me a coward, cos i really rather not being hurt as i am not a strong person..

Anyway, one nice thing to share is that i went to Takashimaya to shop and i discovered that the gift wrappings and gift bags for Taka this year is BLUE.. MY favourite colour... It is so nice that i cant bear to use the gift wrappers.. hee...

I wonder why the person gave me such a big bag when my stuff is sooooo small.. maybe they want to conserve the small bags for the next few days..

Another qn troubling me.. why do Chinese ppl give blankets to the dead during the funeral? They should dont need it to be warmth....

HUH.. weird dream..

I had a weird dream just now..

I dreamed that i went to ACJC for a primary or secondary school contest, which my school lost horribly to MGH (so far, i only heard of MGS.. :p). Then the whole team went to a shopping mall for lunch. Then the scene changed to me meeting some of the barflies with the additional of a handsome guy, who turned out to be a demon with red eyes.. I even took his pics showing from handsome to evil.. haha.. Then everything is fine and i went home with my school team and missed watching a basketball match..

Weird hor?

So far, i only got 3 conclusions:

1) I got a very very good imagination.. Admits it cos i got the scene changed so many times..

2) I had been watching too many tv shows, like Charmed, Angel.. (Just finished watching a rented DVD for Charmed.. i guess that's where the red-eyed demon came in...

3) I missed my barflies like Vanna and gracey and CG..

Anyway, going back to sleep again.. exhausted..

Wearing heels

My feet are killing me…Can anyone teach me the tactic of walking on heels which had ends that are approximately 5cm in height and 1.5 cm in width? I can barely walk without disgracing myself.. Yesterday, I almost lost my shoe once.. Jialat.. how to continue wearing…

I really wonder how other ppl do it.. can wear those 3 inch heels and still walk gracefully.. It is sooooooo painful for me.. sob sob.. still waiting for myself to get used to it..

Kenna bitten by the shoes... now i got two small holes on my feet.. the skin came off liao..

Baby Bash on 4 Dec 2005

I woke up on Sunday, feeling an ache in my left leg.. I think it was because i didnt do any warm up before the bowling match.. Wonder how come my arms were not affected...

Went to my PEM, Ms Chia' s baby bash in the afternoon with Karen, Kit yee and Cheng Ying.. It was held at her new place, a condo in Pasir Ris.. Her place is really very cool, got a ktv room, a pool room and a game room... Kit yee was going "wow wow" over the swimming pool.. Haha.. But one thing i dont like is that the space in the condo is a bit small for my liking.. Whatever, since it is not like i am going to own a condo anyway...

Ms Chia gave these to all the guests for souvenirs.. So sweet... She made the card herself while the customised chocolate bar is ordered from a company.. so nice, right?

Here's a close up of the card...

Ms Chia invited a lot of her colleagues to the party and we saw a lot of our lecturers and tutors there.. haha.. It became a bit weird cos we are the only students there.. So we asked whether we can use the pool room to pass the time.. Her husband is very kind and went to book the room for us...

We spent close to 2 hours playing pool, chatting and laughing.. Hopefully, we didnt embarass ourselves since the room is not soundproof and we were very noisy.. heehee .. We left at around 9pm.. Kit yee and Cheng Ying got a free ride to amk from Karen's mom, while poor little me have to go and take mrt for more than one hour before i reached home..

I Lost My Virginity

I lost my first time today
to Wala Wala... Hahaha

Actually, the afternoon started with meeting some of the barflies to play bowling.. My average score out of 3 games is around 95, still can make it.. I was the second in the amautur lanes, which Waffle is the big winner.. haha.. dont know why but i said Waffle's name as Walnut when CG asked me who won.. hahaha.. Dont know what came over me.. The other professional lanes, must ask either KM or Sashie, who is the winner cos both of them are good...

Anyway, i follow them to the Wala Wala to have a drink and listen to Unexpected play.. I can finally understand why soooo many ppl fall in love with Shirley, the lead singer.. She is GOOD... Her voice is damn powerful, sexy and pleasant to the ears... She herself is funny and can entertain us when she is not singing...

I am drunk then so u can see me a bit stoned.. very quiet and dont talk a lot... Sad to admit, i also take a quick nap of 5-10 mins to regain my conscious... After, we went to have supper before going home.. Ok, i need some rest liao.. nite nite..

I hate buying gifts for males

Originally uploaded by Jaschocolate.

It is damn frustrating to go shopping for a gift for a guy, mainly due to the restrictions i had to face..

Things that i can think of as a present:
1) A tie (Cannot buy unless he is my special one.. cos a tie has always been thought as trying to tie the person to me.. I accidentally bought a tie for a male friend before.. lucky there was no misunderstanding..)

2) A pair of shoes (A bit hard to buy if i dont know the size.. and all shoes looked so damn alike, so why buy?)

3) A shirt (Also got the trouble with the size.. another thing is will he like the flowery pattern or the checkered one? Lots of questions...)

4) Handkerchief (nowadays still got guys carry it ah? Oh ya, i think i saw my classmate using it..)

5) CDs / VCDs (Must know what genre he liked then can buy ah.. and what if he already have it liao..)

6) Books (Same as above, must know him well enough than can buy for him..)

7) T-shirts (not sure whether is considered insincere??)

8) Parker pen (Wau lao, i had already bought 4 of the same Parker pen to give to 4 different ppl due to the lack of ideas for gift.. i seriously dont want to give this again in the near future..)

Nah, so far only can think of these few ideas but almost all can strike off.. I dont mind giving the guy a soft toy or even flowers, if they dont think i am siao can liao... Think next time, i can stick to buying vouchers with a card.. Simple and no need to waste my brain cells..
